Judge Denies Carson Travel Leave in Hancock Raceway Case
In Boston a superior court refused to lift a court order barring Springfield tax accountant Charles R. Carson from leaving the state to visit his ill mother in law. The order ties to his Hancock Raceway stock suit where he faces perjury and larceny indictments in Hampshire County. The judge noted a $100,000 bond impounded during the trial remains undisposed and warned Carson he may not return if allowed to depart. Carson testified the bond came from selling stock to Salvatore A. Rizzo and that he kept it hidden under a rug before it was found in a New York bank.
