BSO Adds Five New Members in 83rd Season Tryouts
The Boston Symphony Orchestra announces five new players, including Giora Bernstein and Burton Fine, following tryouts for its 83rd season. Bernstein, Vienna native and Cambridge resident, has ties to the Cambridge Acts Festival and Goldovsky Opera Company. Fine arrives after nine years at NASA in Cleveland, bringing quartet experience. Other new members include cellist Luis Leguia, horn player Thomas Newell Jr., and percussionist Thomas Gauger, all joining after competitive auditions and Berkshire Center study.
