Cummington Bates Family Reunion Highlights Local Descendants
The Bates reunion gathered twenty descendants of Edward and Grace Elder Bates at the home of Mildred and Barbara Bates. Attendees from Amherst and nearby towns joined relatives from Florence, Whately, Lenn meadow, Springfield, West Springfield, and Northampton as birthdays for Barbara Bates and Billy Harlow were noted. Kenneth Green of Cape Cod spoke at Village Congregational Church. Next Sunday children will move from Sunday school to morning worship after the children's story.
