Two Saturday fashion luncheons will be presented by Downtown Association members at Wendell-Sherwood. The events run September 26 and October 3 from noon to 2 pm, featuring 36 ensembles each day modeled by Rosalind Lang Agency members of Albany with Mrs Lang as commentator.
Paris fashion reveals short and long hems with Dior knee skims and Lanvin long looks. Elisabeth Taylor buys Dior, Barbara Hutton favors Lanvin, Duchess of Windsor diverges. Trends include tube day dresses, brocade suits, color fades, sleeveless over-vests, bell sleeves, and predominance of dark neutrals. American buyers grow but still a small share of French output.
