Massachusetts Must Improve Climate to Reach 1970 Jobs Target
Massachusetts economist Roger Johnson warns that without a better business climate and strong management decisions, the state cannot reach the 1970 goal of 800,000 manufacturing jobs. He cites 1960 as a pivotal year and projects about 25,000 fewer industrial jobs than 1956, urging improvements to create 70,000 to 150,000 new positions between 1960 and 1970.
