Canadian Traffic Toll Cut by Six Per Cent

Church Merger Likely Before Parishes Vote

SYRACUSE N Y delegates to a joint conference of Universalist and Unitarian Churches tentatively approved a merger plan by 459 to 92 after 16 hours of talks. A formal vote is expected in separate meetings later today with parish plebiscites planned between now and next spring and final approval in Boston next May. If approved, the merged unit would save 175000 adult members. The plan emphasizes broad universal truths centered on love of God and love to man. Leaders Rev Dr Philip Giles and Rev Dana M Greeley endorsed the merger.
