Seek Stature Not Status Williams Freshmen Urged
Williams College Freshmen were urged to seek stature over status during Parents Day with Dean William G. Cole noting stature is harder to attain. The talk drew several hundred attendees in Chapin Hall as about 403 visitors registered for classes and the football game against Vermont Academy, 8-0 Williams. A freshman revue followed in Adams Memorial Theater. Cole described the college as a community with a strong identity and urged emancipation from provincialism towards a more liberated mindset.
