Footnote to History at Egremont Plain honors Du Bois
Eight hundred people gathered last Saturday in Great Barrington at Egremont Plain to honor W. E. B. Du Bois. The event recalled a century past when a Tittle boy lived with the Burghardts, and spoke for his people and freedom. The gathering echoed the town’s call to remember the first American resistance to tyranny born here 195 years ago.
