New York Police Field TV Command Post to Monitor Trouble
A new police command center in New York uses television cameras to monitor trouble spots citywide. Mayor Lindsay and Police Commissioner Leary unveiled the $410,000 facility at Police Headquarters with giant wall screens and direct links to 78 precincts. The system traces demonstrations, stores video for later identification, and operates 24/7 with data on officer deployment.
