40 Years With MSPCC Social Work Is Quality Not Quantity
Miss Dorothy Reed marked four years of service with the local Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children at a luncheon at the Stanley Club. She recalled the early days when the MSPCC had a budget under $10,000, no car, one caseworker and a secretary, and how the scope and funding have grown into two caseworkers, an executive director, and dozens of active cases. The office has moved several times since 1912, and Reed, a Cheshire resident, tends a garden and reads biographies and nature books.
