Saturn Project Faces Budget Strains in Space Leap
Huntsville dispatch notes Project Saturn struggles under a tight budget and slow pace as officials weigh transferring management to NASA. Maj. Gen. Medaris warns current plans may not meet the 1962 63 schedule, with ARPA and Air Force debates adding uncertainty. The defense cutbacks delay fuel tank fabrication and testing, risking the massive booster program that would carry payloads into orbit and beyond.
