Dever Portrait Removed At His Request In State House
An oil portrait of late Governor Paul A. Dever will be moved from the Massachusetts State House to the Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton, the first time a former governor’s portrait has left the State House. The transfer follows Dever’s dying wish and will occur near Sunday with ceremonies naming the school the Dever School and a bronze plaque unveiled by his brother John F. Dever.
