Lebanon Valley to Get New Japanese American Restaurant

The Lebanon Valley will gain a Japanese American restaurant at the former Mansion House site opposite the United Church of Christ, Congregational. An opening is planned for November 2 or 1, with lease negotiations under way. The 25 room, three story structure sits on property owned by Ward S. Hatch, who bought it last November from the Rosenbecks, who themselves purchased from the Brown estate in 1952. The place, once linked to Gov. Tilden, was built around 1892 for Samuel J. Tilden TH, a governor’s nephew. Four Japanese chefs will operate the restaurant, assisted by Stuart J. Luhrmann of the Inn at the Shaker Mill Farm, run by Ingram Paperny and the Luhrmanns.
