Draftsman from Turkey Impressed by Our Democracy
Talat Ozdemir a Turkish draftsman at ED Jones for three months, visits Pittsfield to study the oldest democracy. He praises American wealth, skyscrapers, clean streets, and the openness of Americans while noting Turkish reforms under Ataturk and his views on monogamy and social life. Ozdemir studied at Columbia Language Center, met his wife Elin Brown, and plans to write on Turkey’s economic and political evolution.
