Blacks Seek N Y Airbase To Build Experimental City
A New York group led by Urban Ventures proposes buying Stewart Air Force Base near Newburgh to establish the City of Man a self contained yet connected urban demonstration project for Black leadership and urban renewal. The plan aims to create housing education and local ties while not isolating the project from other cities. The Defense Department would study the idea before any talks proceed. No date was set.
