Judith Jones Becomes First Woman in Local Reserve Unit
Miss Judith E. Jones, R N, daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter Jones of Berkshire, was sworn in as a second lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps U S Army Reserve in the first ceremony at the local Reserve Center on Barker Road. She will join the 18th Field Hospital and is a Pittsfield General Hospital staff nurse and Pittsfield High School and Bishop Memorial School of Nursing graduate.

Pfizer Co Declares Extra Dividend for 1963 Year
Pfizer directors announced an extra yearend dividend of 25 cents per common share, in addition to the regular quarterly 20 cents. Both payable December 1 to holders of record December 2. Total disbursement for the year set at $1.05 per share, up from 95 cents in 1962. The New England Lime Co operates Pfizer plants in Adams Massachusetts and Canaan Connecticut.
