Sporting goods store Kenver Ltd opens in Egremont
South Egremont welcomed Kenver Ltd a new sporting goods store in the 203 year old Egremont Tavern building. Co proprietors Kenneth Vermeulen and William Miller restored the former inn and created five display rooms with ski wear gifts and Alaska Eskimo crafts. The venture links to Butternut Basin Ski Shop and features a 166 pair rental stock a repair shop open year round and a boot room with a roaring fire. The grand opening drew about 2000 visitors as plans include future tennis backboard pond fly casting rifle and archery ranges and a national distribution for a ski binding lubricant.
