Berkshire skiers dominate Albany show while Boston hosts sparse turnout
Conflicting dates of the New England Ski Show in Boston and the Capitol Ski Show in Albany left Berkshire exhibitors scarce in Boston. Verne Goodwin and Art Parker were among the few local figures seen in Boston, with Thur Mountain’s Parker also promoting Beattie Brothers and the Garcia Corp. Highlights included Stein Eriksen, Olympic coach Beatty’s training program, and performances by Roxy Rothafeld and Rocky King. Berkshire figures and Brodie, Butternut Basin, Gore Mountain, and Jiminy’s showcased amid demonstrations on the Ski Dek and roller skis.
