Battle Over Pittsfield Teacher Bargaining Agent Moves Forward
An impending vote to determine the bargaining agent for Pittsfield public school teachers emerges as a likelihood. Edwin R. Grady Jr. of the Pittsfield Teachers Association backs an election while Donald F. Morelli of the Pittsfield Federation of Teachers AFL CIO supports one with secret ballots. Both unions seek guidance from state and national affiliates as Massachusetts law now allows teacher representation in bargaining with schools.
