Federal Laws Asked On Killing of President
Two members of the Kennedy assassination commission backed legislation to make presidential killing a federal crime. Reps Hale Boggs and Gerald Ford urged immediate exclusive federal jurisdiction in cases involving the president or successor. They cited lack of transcript records in Oswald interrogation and argued for tighter coordination. A separate note reports Rhodes criticizing Johnson's rent subsidy plan as socialistic and unworkable, saying it would erode home ownership incentives.
