Ruling Favors Northeast Airlines on East Coast Route
The Civil Aeronautics Board refused to stay an April CAB order setting up new hearings on whether Northeast Airlines should continue the New York to Florida route. National and Eastern had sought a halt while appealing to the Supreme Court, but the stay was denied.

Shoe Trade Fears More Job Losses
Washington UPI reports the American shoe industry warns of 80 000 jobs lost in five years unless imports halt. Alan Goldstein of Plymouth Shoe Co. cites 31 000 jobs lost last year from 104 million imported pairs and predicts 274 million imports in 1969 at current rate. He urges a flexible quota bill backed by Congressmen Burke and Bates.

DuPont Heiress Found Hanged In Suburban Mansion
Detroit UPI reports Mrs Ethel Warren 49 heiress to the DuPont fortune and ex wife of Franklin D Roosevelt Jr was found hanging in a Grosse Pointe Farms bathroom. A Wayne County medical examiner ordered a death inquest and autopsy if needed. she had been in poor health and recently returned from a Silver Hill Connecticut rest home. The Du Pont family member, daughter of the late Eugene and Mrs Du Pont, was married 12 years to Roosevelt, later to Benjamin Warren Jr. who is 53, and they had separated about a year ago.
