Northern Berkshire plans elected and regional school changes
The Northern Berkshire Vocational Regional School District committee approved a change in Adams to phase out its local school committee for McCann representation when Adams joins the Adams Cheshire region. Adams selectmen will name one regional committeeman to sit on the McCann board, with two other Adams reps unaffected. Also in North Adams, more low rent housing is urged to meet demand, and about 50 workers who were briefly disqualified from unemployment benefits after a strike at Hunter Outdoor Products received retroactive payments as the labor dispute ended and jobs were filled.
