Navy Icebreaker Atka Breaks Ground in Buzzards Bay
The 285-foot icebreaker Atka ran aground on a ledge in Buzzards Bay and flooded in its engine rooms. Tow vessels then towed the vessel to Boston after quick action by pumps. It had sailed from Boston with 20 officers and 200 enlisted men en route to Davisville to load ammunition for a mission to assist in evacuating Navy scientists from an Arctic ice island in East Greenland Sea.

French Wines Raise High Hopes in 1964 Vintage
Paris reports the 1964 vintage shows excellent potential across major regions. Champagne expects a bumper year with at least 60 million bottles, while Beaujolais and Burgundy anticipate strong quality and rising prices. Hospices de Beaune charity sale climbs to 2.18 million francs, red Bordeauxs look exceptional, and Burgundy harvests also shine. SPRING FOOTNOTE: Even when the light is go-go-go, wise auto drivers are slow-slow-slow.
