Chips and Putts By Lee Leahy at Pittsfield Golf Club

The 10th hole at the Country Club of Pittsfield proves a nemesis to leaders in recent events. Penny Fall faltered there in 1967 while Bud Dawley and his son John stumbled in the Allied father son championship, with Bill and Rob Johnson winning after a tight finish. Pro fashion and old-timers’ tales mix with notes on Jackie Burke and Deane Beman, plus local figures like Ed Toole and the Toski family.
