Pittsfield American Legion defeated Adams 6-0 at Clapp Park in the Berkshire County League opener. Tom Scagliarini threw a near perfect one-hitter with seven strikeouts, while Dave Aviawi pitched well for Adams. Lee Strikes Out Five In Major League Debut Bill Lee, Pittsfield left handed pitcher, recalled by the Boston Red Sox, made his major league debut in a Fenway doubleheader. Fran Majchrowski hit a three run homer in the first inning as Dalton Legion defeated South Berkshire 5-1 in the league opener at Legion Field. Gary Campbell limited visitors with three singles, while Dalton manufactured two more runs in the sixth. South Berkshire scored in the sixth on a two out rally.
