Four art exhibitions spotlight young Boston artists and Boston University faculty and students from the Tanglewood Institute. June 28 to July 13 features BU advanced students' paintings and drawings, July 14–27 presents the Young Boston Painters including Douglas Parker and Kathy Porter, July 28–Aug 14 offers a faculty show with Philip Pearlstein and others, and Aug 15–24 covers more BU Institute student works. The institute, begun by Erich Leinsdorf, partners with BU to run college level arts programs at Tanglewood. Edwin Stein leads the Tanglewood school with John R. Watts assisting.

CAL Show To Include 200 Artists in Hillsdale NY
The 11th annual Creative Arts Show sponsored by Community Activities League in Hillsdale New York runs July 20 through August 2 at Roeuff Jansen Central School Route 22. Albert L. Divine chairs the event inviting about 200 artists and sculptors from the area. Entries accepted July 12 at the school 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eight cash awards and three honorable mentions will be announced at a public preview July 19 at 7 p.m. The 1968 show covers all media including metal wood and clay sculpture and features modern and representational art with viewing hours 2 to 5 p.m. starting July 20.
