Coast Scientists Urge Reagan Ban on DDT in California
A letter from 60 West Coast marine scientists urged Governor Reagan to ban DDT in California citing risks to fisheries and wildlife. They noted DDT residues harm birds and fishes, while acknowledging historical use against disease and crop pests. The scientists asked support for pending state legislation and argued DDT is no longer essential for public health.
