Welcome Newcomer links to credit bureaus questioned
The testimony before a Senate subcommittee raised concerns that local greeting groups such as Welcome Wagon and Welcome Newcomer may collect personal data for credit bureaus. Erma Angevine of the Consumer Federation warned the practice could reveal households habits and morality. Welcome Wagon denied sharing information, while Welcome Newcomer officials offered limited comment. A separate Ky report notes girls used as highway flagmen by Hinkle Contracting Corp.
