Lenox Seeks Review of Cable TV Contract Delays
Lenox Selectmen call for Town Counsel review of the Fidelity Cable TV contract due to prolonged delays in extending CATV across Lenox. Since 1967 High Fidelity, the current franchisee, faced strikes and FCC certificate issues, hindering progress from Lenox Dale to townwide service amid underground lines and tariff disputes. The FCC has yet to issue a 214 certificate to the telephone company, stalling installations since 1967. The delays follow prior failed franchises including LP Cable Co. of Springfield and a Pittsfield Dalton firm with an antenna on Richmond Mountain.
