A proposed Pittsfield measure to hold a June 8 special election on a new library was placed on the House calendar for action after being passed for debate this afternoon. The bill, which has cleared Senate readings, was held pending unresolved differences among local legislators. House Speaker Barton Bartley stressed the hold was not to bury the bill, and Rep Curtiss moved to place it on today’s calendar with backing from local officials.
