Nader urges hearings on rock music noise impact
Consumer advocate Ralph Nader cited hearing damage from loud live rock performances and urged Senate hearings to explore local restrictions. He cited decibel readings from Washington clubs and discotheques, plus studies at Tennessee and Florida institutions showing hearing impairment among students and teens. He called for state and local action on noise limits, ear protection for workers, and sound-absorbing surfaces.
