Legal challenge over Monument Valley Road landfill zoning
Legal counsel for opponents of a proposed sanitary landfill on Monument Valley Road filed suit in Superior Court to force the Zoning Board of Appeals to act. The suit argues the board exceeded its authority by deferring to the courts on a zoning issue. The case notes that sanitary landfill is not a listed permitted use in any zone and that a bylaw amendment to make it permissible is being drafted by the Planning Board.
