Cultural Exchange Plan Obscenities Sparks Funding Cut
Washington dispute over four letter words in a university drama group's East European exchange program led Rep. Rooney to strike the $838,000 request from a $2.5 billion appropriations bill. The program, funded at $685,000 last year, would have supported study centers and interchanges abroad.
