Orchestra Bus Rolls Over Near Dayton on Snowy Highway

A Chartered bus carrying members of the Kansas City Philharmonic Orchestra rolled over on a curved snow and slush coated road Friday near Dayton Washington. About 25 passengers suffered injuries including broken bones head cuts and bruises. Don Holmes of John Bruning Hospital said no one was in critical condition. The bus was traveling from Pullman Washington to Boise Idaho.

Smathers Russell Urge Backing for Johnson

In separate speeches Sen. George Smathers of Florida and Sen. Richard B. Russell of Georgia urged Southern backing for President Johnson’s broader agenda beyond civil rights.
