Labor MP Arrested For Espionage In London

William James Owen a 68 year old Labor MP and Cooperative Movement leader was arrested Thursday on espionage charges by Scotland Yard. He is to be arraigned at Bo Street Magistrates Court under the Official Secrets Act for passing information prejudicial to state security. Owen has represented Morpeth since 1088 and is not tied to any left wing group. No parliamentary privilege was involved.
