Boston School Boycott Leaders Face Court Action
In Boston a School Committee member threatened court action against two leaders of a large illegal school boycott over alleged de facto segregation. Rev. James P. Breedon and Noel Day directed the Freedom School Stay-Out Committee. Attorney General Brooke ruled the boycott illegal and warned fines for leaders, while supporters called it a success as thousands stayed away from class.
