Dobbins Proposes Recodification and Traffic Study Motions

Ward 4 Councilman Edward L. Dobbins filed two motions in response to City Clerk Fitzgeralds annual report. One asks the city solicitor to estimate costs for a complete recodification of city ordinances, the other seeks a three member council committee to study traffic regulation procedures and streamline enactment. Fitzgerald notes the 1947 recodification followed by 513 amendments, urges action in 1964, and criticizes the current traffic process as archaic and inadequate. He also emphasizes prior calls for recodification since 1959 with no action.
