Scouts Observe Boy Scout Week in Dalton Churches
Local Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts plan to mark Boy Scout week by attending church services in uniform on Boy Scout Sunday. Troop 4 and Troop 22 will join 8:15 a.m. Mass at St. Agnes Church, with others attending services with families or in uniform. Activities include a Troop 4 dinner and court of honor at the First Congregational Church and a father and son dinner for Troop 222 at the YMCA. About 331 local boys participate in scouting with Pack 42 Cub Scouts, the largest in the Great Trails Council. Legion Auxiliary meets Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Home.

The 1969 Dalton annual assessor report notes a small rise in assessed value led by limited new building. 2431 parcels valued at 30,428,150 and 205 personal estates at 1,516,005 boosted total assessed estate to 31,964,155 as of Jan 1, 1969. The town plans continued land revaluation and a sales survey begun in 1968.

Building Subcommittee Reviews Two-Story Elementary Plan
Central Berkshire Regional Schools Building Subcommittee met with architect Paul Leineck to study a preliminary two story elementary school drawing with 22 classrooms, two special rooms, central kitchen, gym and library. Considerations include boiler room overlap, roof and foundation cost savings, and a possible stairwell cost.
