Plan Dropped For Esperanto Course on TV
Technical and financial problems killed the Berkshire Esperanto Society plan to offer a course on cable TV stations in Pittsfield and Great Barrington. BES President Allan C. Boschen said the GE strike deprived stations of television revenue, ending the course. A spring alternative begins Feb 24 at 2 p.m. for St. Joseph’s High School students taught by John Lewine of West Stockbridge, retired from New York City schools. Lewine heads the American Association of Teachers of Esperanto and is developing a curriculum for Experiment in International Living.
