Lenox Sees School Costs Rising 10-12% Annually
Supt Raymond L Trabold warned at a Lenox Town Hall meeting that the school budget will climb about 10 to 12 percent yearly driven by teachers salaries and instructional costs including principals vice principals guidance counselors textbooks and supplies. Enrollment is expected to grow from 1300 to around 1400, squeezing space and forcing double or overlapping sessions with a room at the Lenox Community Center already rented for an elementary grade. The 999 223 budget shows a 12 5 percent rise from last year and funds a larger teaching staff and higher salaries for hires last fall.
