If window sills sweat in cold weather, water stains can be avoided by waxing the painted surface with furniture wax or coating the painted sills with exterior varnish such as spar varnish. If the sills were originally painted with glass enamel, water spotting should not be a problem.

Pittsfield Firm Starts Demolishing Windsor Print Works Buildings
Pittsfield firm HL J Pirel Demolition Company began razing two of the 18 vacant Windsor Print Works buildings on Union Street as part of a Stanley M. Shapiro initiated plan. Shapiro extended his agreement to purchase the plant from Windsor Industries of New York for another month. The cleared six acre site along Union Street will host parking for about 200 cars and offers 286000 square feet of floor space for prospective tenants.
