New Orleans Teachers Call Mass Meeting

A New Orleans teachers association scheduled a mass meeting after most of the city’s 5,500 school employees did not receive pay on Friday. Emma McLendon said members petitioned for the meeting to discuss the pay issue and potential delays after Christmas. The NEA offered up to 250,000 in interest free loans to affected teachers to cover unpaid salaries and hardships.
