Van Deusenville Church Not Converted to Alice's Restaurant
The variance request to turn the Van Deusenville Church into a restaurant was withdrawn after about six residents spoke against the plan at a public hearing. The property, in an R-2 district, faced foreclosing mortgage and opposition over noise traffic parking and waste concerns. The site later served as a film location for Alice's Restaurant.
