The Navy announced that the bathyscaphe Trieste will be remodeled and resume its deep Atlantic dives around May 1 to locate the Thresher wreck some 226 miles east of Cape Cod. The mission will also study oceanographic phenomena. two-man crew remains unchanged.
Two juveniles who admitted desecrating a church were ordered to attend school and church or go to a correctional facility. Parents must provide labor for church repairs totaling about 5000 dollars from the November incident. Juvenile Judge R G Kelton sentenced them to Alabama Boys Industrial School until age 21, but suspended the sentence if the boys meet other conditions.
The Middlefield Ladies' Aid Society re-elected all officers including Mrs Emil Andersen as president and Mrs Cornelius D Vreefald II as vice president. Reports of officers for the year were given at the meeting attended by nineteen members and three guests after Sunday school at the Middlefield Congregational Church. A gift exchange followed the supper.

Police report a two car collision at First and Fenn streets Wednesday morning. Barbara Parisi of 231 Cadwell Road suffered injuries.
