Franco American Aerotrain pact seeks 250 mph U.S. line
Paris based Societe de l Agrotrain and Rohr Corp announce a joint venture to bring the Aerotrain monorail to the United States. The jet powered, air cushion vehicle aims for 250 mph on a 259 mile interurban route with a plan for Rohr to own 60 percent of Aeroglide Systems. Secretary Volpe toured the model and praised its smooth operation despite urban noise concerns.
