Army rejects Worcester M16 rifles after praise at congressional hearing
The Army began rejecting Harrington & Richardson M16 rifles from Worcester after Maj. Gen. Walter J. Woolwine praised their quality. Five lots totaling 4,000 rifles were refused for defects in bolts, carriers, lubrication, endurance, and accuracy. The suspension will persist until corrective actions meet contract quality standards.
