Minor issues delay Sealab 2 entry in underwater base
In La Jolla California Navy officials report safety checks on Sealab 2 gear are taking longer than planned. Divers may not enter the 12 by 58 foot steel chamber until Thursday or Friday, beginning a 45 day stay at 210 feet. Captain Ray Spencer of the Engineering Applications Division says the delays are due to numerous minor problems to be solved before residence starts.
