O Brien Quits As President At Brokerage
Lawrence F. O'Brien former postmaster general said he resigned as president of McDonnell & Co. to become chairman of a new international firm not in securities. He cited retrenchment and limited growth, with no successor named. The firm plans a major reorganization, divesting 10 branches and the McDonnell Mutual Fund, cutting overhead.
