Descendants Aid Berkshire Historical Society Gifts From Field Family
A Berkshire County Historical Society exhibit includes items from the Field family of Stockbridge donated by Capt. Wells L. Field of Old Bennington Vermont and Ruth Benedict of New York City. The gifts honor Rev. David Dudley Field and include a goldheaded cane a gold watch a gold medal and an antique chair. Additional items include portraits photographs and a cider press section tied to the Cheshire cheese incident. The society named Mrs Barrington chair of its new accessions committee to receive and catalog future gifts.
