Free Band Concert Planned on the Green
A free band concert is set for memorial green at the Community House on Wednesday August 14 at 7 30 p m. Hinsdale Teens Lead in Lions Club Golf Tourney
Two teen-agers won the men s division at Wahconah Country Club in Hinsdale as about 130 golfers competed for the Lions Club hole in one tournament. Ronald Skippy Wilson, 16, took first prize with a 95 inch ball stop from the cup while Raymond Lavalle, 15, was runner up at 26 inches. In the women s division Emma DeAngelus led with 85 inches and Mma Paterno was second with 7 inches. The Lions cleared 3750 for the Town Hall project.

Ball Season Nears Close In Local Little League
In LANESBORO only one Little League game was held this week as players were scarce. The White Sox defeated the Braves 12 to 11, improving to seven wins and four losses. The Sox have one final game versus the Indians on Thursday. The Indians and Dodgers stand tied for first with 6 and 3 records, each with two games left. Dodgers face the Braves Monday and Indians meet the Dodgers Wednesday. In Babe Ruth play, Red Sox lead with three games remaining. Monday saw the Tigers beat the Yankees 12 to 7 as John Blair pitched a two-hitter and homered. Danny Icard and Wayne Gallerly were perfect at 3-for-3. Tuesday’s 11–11 draw pitted Yankees and Orioles.
